Congestion Pricing for Major Events
To manage traffic during major events, special congestion pricing will apply in high-demand areas, such as the Dubai World Trade Centre and major exhibition venues. Moreover, parking near these locations may cost up to AED 25 per hour during peak event periods.
Why is Dubai Revising Parking Fees?
Encouraging Smarter Parking Choices
The new fee structure is designed to promote efficient parking by adjusting rates based on demand. This will help reduce overcrowding in high-traffic areas and ensure fair access to parking spots.
Promoting Public Transport
Higher parking fees in premium zones, especially during peak hours, are expected to encourage residents and visitors to use Dubai’s extensive public transport system, including the metro, buses, and trams.
Improving City Infrastructure
The additional revenue from parking fees will support infrastructure projects and maintenance, ensuring Dubai’s roads and parking facilities remain world-class.
How to Prepare for the New Parking Fees?
With the updated fee structure taking effect soon, motorists should familiarize themselves not only with the new zones but also with the corresponding pricing. Furthermore, by using digital tools like the RTA mobile app, drivers can seamlessly find available parking and, in addition, manage their payments efficiently.
Dubai’s new parking fees aim to create a more organized and efficient system, benefiting both residents and visitors. As the city continues to grow, these changes will play a vital role in improving mobility, reducing congestion, and enhancing urban infrastructure.
