Dubai comedy festival 2023: tickets, line-up, venues & more

Get ready to tickle your bones! Dubai’s most favourite Comedy Festival is set to come back for its third edition and this year its going to be even bigger and better than ever before! With stand-up, theatre, and a host of other events in the pipeline, this year’s Dubai Comedy Festival promises 10 days of non-stop laughs. Ready to laugh out loud? Read on for all the dates and other deets!

The ultimate destination for all things funny, the Dubai Comedy Festival attracts some of the planet’s funniest people, serving as a platform for local and regional comedians to showcase their skills, transcending all cultures, backgrounds, and ages, like good comedy should. This year, the fest will be happening from 12- 21 May 2023. That means, you’re guaranteed to get 10 days of hilarious gigs at various venues in the city.

Comedy lovers can stop by  Dubai Opera and The Theatre, Mall of the Emirates to get their dose of laughter. And if you’re wondering what this year’s line up looks like, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The festival has seen an incredible mix of international icons and local stars in the past years, and this year’s line-up includes the likes of UK-based funnyman Jimmy Carr, Dara O Briain from Ireland, Zakir Khan from India and the dynamic duo of Joanne McNally and Vogue Williams.

Dubai Comedy Festival 2023 line-up

Sooshi Mango – 12 May at Coca-Cola Arena

After leaving audiences in Australia in splits of laughter, comedy troupe Sooshi Mango is set to delight Dubai audiences. On May 12th, make your way to the Coca-Cola Arena for non-stop laughs during their famous Off the Boat show.

Zakir Khan – 14 May at Dubai Opera

After the massively successful ‘Tathastu’, Zakir Khan is on the road with his new show. With the ability to highlight comic elements from everyday life, and an uniquely Indian style of comedy, Zakir hooks on to the emotions that are common to every Indian household.

Dara O’Briain- 15 May at Dubai Opera

As usual, O Briain’s set will be jam-packed with hilarious topical stories interspersed with personal anecdotes. He’s done it all in his two-decade career, from hosting the BBC’s satirical program Mock the Week to sold-out performances around the world and regular appearances on panel shows in the UK and Ireland.

Jimmy Carr- 16 May at Dubai Opera

Jimmy Carr, the UK-based comedian known for his acerbic jokes and excellent improv skills, will deliver a rib-tickling routine in his trademark style. Carr’s ability to engage the audience and his controversial one-liners have been praised by critics. Carr is also known for his appearances on shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats and The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, and numerous other gigs across the world.
