During the Eid Al Fitr long weekend, some people stayed in the UAE, while a lot travelled to their hometowns, nearby countries and other places. In fact, as per the reports, Dubai Airports saw over 200,000 fliers passing through within 24 hours during Eid Al Fitr. And from 200,000, around 110,000 passengers were in arrivals. To keep the crazy travel demand pre and post Eid Al Fitr weekend, Dubai announced more flight operations to deal with the travel surge. In fact, one of the UAE’s national carrier- Emirates Airlines, added 38 additional flights across six cities in the GCC and Middle East to meet the significant demand for Eid Al Fitr holiday travel. Emirates Airline, in a statement said that over 110,000 passengers are expected to travel with Emirates during the holiday season, in a statement, adding that the airline planned additional flights for Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Medina, Kuwait and Beirut.
For Saudi Arabia- the airline added four extra flights between 19-29 April to and from Riyadh. It will operate three daily A380s in Jeddah and additionally layer on six flights operated by its Boeing 777 to serve the peak travel holiday period from the city between 20-25 April.

Besides this, Emirates added more flights to Dammam from 18 to 21 weekly, from 20 April until 31 May, with additional flights scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Travellers from Medina will have extra 16 flights as a choice in April to accommodate those travelling inbound for Umrah.
Recently, DXB airport was named the world’s busiest airport for the ninth consecutive year. Airports Council International (ACI) World published its list of the ten busiest airports worldwide for 2022, and DXB retained its spot as the world’s leading airport. Here’s what the report reveals.
According to ACI World’s annual report, DXB witnessed the most international passengers stepping into the country. DXB In 2022, DXB welcomed a total of 66,069,981 passengers, which was 127 per cent higher than the previous year. In fact, the Q1 of 2023 has been the busiest since the pandemic, with DXB welcoming a whopping 19,729,155 passengers.

ACI’s report looked at the total passenger traffic ranking for 2022. Dubai bagged the fiftth spot, after five airports frojm the USA. These included Atlanta (ATL), Dallas/Fort Worth TX (DFW), Denver (DEN) and Chicago (ORD). Istanbul Airport reached seventh position (64.3 million passengers, +73.8%), followed by London Heathrow Airport, Delhi Airport and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in the top ten.
