Are you going to the Dubai airport soon to pick up your friends and relatives? If yes, then the International Airport has announced a new change in the parking system for travellers. From June 8th, only public transport and other authorised vehicles will have access to the Arrivals forecourt in Terminal 1. This arrangement will be in place to reduce congestion and avoid chaos at the airport. Read on for more deets.

The airport took to Twitter to announce this news. It said, “From 8th June, only public transport and authorised vehicles will have access to the Arrivals forecourt in Terminal 1 to assist in reducing congestion. We advise you to use the car parks or the valet service when receiving your guests.”
The airport has also announced the parking rates for the car parking. Both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 offer a choice of Economy and Premium parking options. For Terminal 1- there are two car parks, Car Park A – Premium and Car Park B – Economy. Car Park A is a 2-3 minute walk to the terminal, and Car Park B is a 7-9 minute walk from the terminal.
For Car Park A- Premium, the charges are AED5 for 5 minutes, AED15 for 15 minutes, AED30 for 30 minutes and AED40 for up to 2 hours. Pricing for 3 hours is AED44, 4 hours is AED65, and 1 day is AED125.

For Car Park B- Economy, the charges are AED25 for 1 hour, AED30 for 2 hours, AED35 for 3 hours and AED45 for 4 hours. One-day parking charge for the economy is AED85.

This Dubai Airport Will Be Able To Accommodate Over 260 Million Passengers
When it comes to airports, Dubai will soon be home to the world’s largest airport. Yep, you read that right! Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport, also known as Dubai World Central (DWC) in Dubai South, has announced its expansion project, and once complete, this Dubai airport will be the world’s largest.
Dubai South is working on the project and is expected to be complete by 2050. Dubai South took to Twitter to announce this news and said that the economic zone ‘would be home to the world’s largest airport once complete and a multi-modal transport infrastructure linking air, land, and sea. Along with the advantages of a business-friendly free zone, it will also provide a diverse range of residential options.’
With a passenger capacity of five to seven million, once complete, this airport will be able to accommodate more than 260 million passengers. In terms of development, plans for Phase 1 are in place and will complete by 2030. Phase 1 will support an annual capacity of 130 million passengers and include two more runways, Concourse 1 and the West Terminal building.
