The Average Highest Temperature Recorded In April Was 41.6°C

As per the reports in The National, the authorities connected detailed research by analysing data from over two decades from over 100 stations across the country. In an interview with The National, Dr Ahmed Habib of the NCM explained that between 1998 and now, scientists had analysed data and temperature readings from over 110 weather stations around the UAE. And based on the analysis, the experts concluded that the average maximum temperature for April 2023 was 31.9°C, making it the lowest average maximum temperature since 1998. Whereas the maximum temperature this year in April peaked at 41.6°C, nearly two degrees less than in April 2003 and five degrees lower than in 2012.

Dr Habib also added that unique weather conditions across the emirate contributed to the drop in the temperatures. Atmospheric pressure systems, which brought in cooler air masses from the Mediterranean Sea and northern Saudi Arabia, were the most significant contributor, as per Dr Habib.
