Abu Dhabi is paving the way for young minds to dive into the world of artificial intelligence (AI) through its AI summer camps. These programs, organized by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), are designed to equip high school students with the skills they need to succeed in an AI-driven future. The camps are open to students from grades 9 to 12, and with a variety of formats, they aim to provide hands-on learning experiences to 2,400 students across the region.
Why AI Education Matters
As AI technology continues to shape our world, it’s crucial that students get early exposure to this field. Otherwise, many young people might miss out on opportunities in careers increasingly relying on AI. Therefore, Abu Dhabi is offering these camps to prepare the next generation for future challenges.
Programs Tailored to Different Needs
ADEK has teamed up with 42 Abu Dhabi and MBZUAI to offer diverse programs. These include:
- Generative AI and Prompt Engineering Bootcamp: A four-week intensive program where students can delve deep into AI and its practical applications.
- Full-Day Sessions: Held in six schools across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, these sessions give students an immersive experience with AI tools, offering three focused training sessions in just one day.
- Shorter Two-Hour Workshops: In collaboration with Majalis Abu Dhabi, these workshops provide a brief yet impactful introduction to AI for students at 28 locations.
Empowering the Future with AI
AI summer camps teach students about technology and career paths in AI. Through hands-on projects and expert interactions, students are inspired to think creatively and solve real-world problems. Consequently, this experience is invaluable as they prepare to enter a job market that increasingly values AI skills.
As AI evolves, ADEK’s initiatives ensure Abu Dhabi students become active contributors, not just users. Investing in their education today builds a future where they lead AI innovation.
