UAE is one of the leading travel destinations for tourists around the world. In fact, as per the reports, Dubai welcomed more than 4.67 million international visitors in the first quarter of 2023. Tourism has increased by 17 per cent to what it was in the first quarter of 2022. Not only Dubai, in a bid to boost tourism, Abu Dhabi has also announced new tourism targets for 2023. Ahead of the Arabian Travel Market, The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has set a new target to attract more than 24 million visitors by the end of this year. Read on to know more.

Abu Dhabi Hosted More Than 100 Events In 2022
Abu Dhabi saw a good jump in 2022, with hotel occupancy rates reaching 70 per cent and around 18 million travellers visiting the emirate last year from India, Saudi Arabia, the UK and the US. The emirate hosted more than 100 events, and legendary groups and singers like BlackPink and AR Rahman performed in Abu Dhabi in 2022. Besides, Abu Dhabi was also home to various momentous events such as the Grand Prix, NBA and UFC.
Speaking about the set goals and targets, Saleh Mohamed Al Geziry, director general for Tourism at DCT Abu Dhabi, said, “The success we have achieved so far inspires us to strive for more. We are committed to delivering on our ambitions for 2023 by further elevating the successful strategy of creating and delivering unique experiences for everyone to enjoy and diverse range of year-round events for visitors in collaboration with our global IP partners.”
