Residents in Abu Dhabi have something massive to look forward to! The capital city is home to some of the best projects in the region and now there’s gonna be an addition to its skyline. A massive AED 18 billion project is underway in Abu Dhabi. Once completed, the ‘Moon Resort’ could be Middle East’s biggest tourism destination.
Canadian-based company Moon World Resorts Inc. are the brain behind the project and from what we’ve heard and read, the makers are working hard behind the scenes to make this resort a dream-come-true project.
“It’s gone crazy,” co-founder Michael R. Henderson told Hotelier Middle East. “MOON has been extremely well received by the global media and indeed by the Emirati people. We have been astounded by the number of UAE-based individuals who have reached out to share their kind words of encouragement.”
Dubai was initially considered to be the Moon Resort’s home. However, things took a turn and now it’s official that the resort will have its address in the capital city of Abu Dhabi.
What you can expect to see once the project takes shape is a 735-foot-tall mixed-use building in the shape of Earth’s only natural satellite. Sounds fascinating, right? That’s not all. The resort will also be home to a spa, nightclub, events centre, a shopping and retail space, as well as luxury residences, a “moon shuttle” and training services for space agencies and astronauts from all over the world.
Well, with such top notch amenities in offer, the project’s developers hope to welcome over 10 million visitors annually.
Besides, a project like this could also project the UAE as an affordable space tourism. Co-founders Henderson and Sandra G. Matthews will soon present the Moon to potential licensees across the Middle East, KSA, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait.
While Moon Resort in Abu Dhabi has not yet been confirmed, we can’t wait to get a sneak peek of what the future will look like!
