The Red Sea adds extra Eid flights from Dubai for luxury beach getaways

More flights, island resorts, surf parks and beachfront dining experiences are making Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea destination one of the hottest Eid escapes from Dubai this year.

As Eid Al-Adha travel plans start taking shape across the UAE, many residents are once again looking for quick luxury escapes that do not involve long-haul flights or complicated travel plans. This year, Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing tourism destination, The Red Sea, is making that decision even easier.

Red Sea Global (RSG) has announced 32 additional flights to the Red Sea destination between May 21 and May 31, just ahead of the busy Eid holiday period. For Dubai travellers planning a last-minute beach break, the extra connectivity means more flexibility, shorter waiting lists and easier access to one of the region’s most talked-about destinations.

Over the past year, The Red Sea has quietly transformed from an ambitious tourism project into a genuine luxury holiday hotspot. With turquoise waters, untouched islands, desert landscapes and ultra-luxury resorts spread across the coastline, it is becoming an increasingly popular alternative for GCC travellers looking beyond the usual Maldives or Seychelles trips.

More Dubai travellers can now plan quick Eid escapes

Saudia, Qatar Airways and flydubai will operate the added flights.

Travellers flying from Riyadh will see the biggest increase, with 46 flights scheduled during the Eid period, including 24 newly added services. Jeddah will have 18 flights, eight of which are additional routes introduced for the holiday rush.

For UAE residents, the biggest convenience comes from Dubai’s direct connectivity. Flights from Dubai and Doha will operate eight times each between May 21 and May 31, giving travellers more chances to book spontaneous Eid getaways without the stress of packed schedules.

In Dubai, last-minute holiday planning is practically part of the culture during public holidays. Many residents wait until the final week before deciding whether to escape the city, which is exactly why destinations with quick flight access often become the biggest winners during Eid breaks.

Luxury resorts are spread across islands

One of the reasons The Red Sea continues attracting attention is the variety of experiences packed into a single destination. Some travellers want complete silence and wellness-focused stays, while others prefer lively beach clubs, marina dining and water activities.

The destination currently has nine hotels open, each offering a very different atmosphere.

For travellers craving privacy and desert scenery, Six Senses Southern Dunes offers a peaceful retreat amid dramatic mountains and golden sands. Nearby, Desert Rock blends directly into the rocky landscape, creating one of the most visually striking stays in the Kingdom right now.

Those looking for a more exclusive island-style holiday can head to The St. Regis Red Sea Resort or Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, where overwater villas, private beaches and calm lagoons create a completely different pace from Dubai’s busy city life.

Then there is Shura Island, which has quickly become the social heart of the destination. Resorts like SLS The Red Sea, The Red Sea EDITION and InterContinental The Red Sea Resort are bringing a more energetic atmosphere with stylish beach clubs, marina views and vibrant dining spaces.

Walking through these resorts feels very different from traditional Gulf beach destinations. There is a stronger focus on nature, open landscapes and slow luxury rather than oversized city glamour.

ADRENA is bringing a more adventurous side to The Red Sea

Beyond luxury hotels, The Red Sea is also leaning heavily into adventure tourism — something that appeals strongly to younger GCC travellers.

At the centre of that push is ADRENA, the destination’s new activity district filled with surf zones, wakeboarding, skate parks, zip lines and giant inflatable obstacle courses.

One of its biggest highlights is Saudi Arabia’s largest saltwater surf pool. Stretching 215 metres, the pool creates waves reaching up to 2.1 metres high, giving both beginners and experienced surfers a reason to spend entire afternoons there.

For Dubai residents used to active weekends filled with beach clubs, water sports and fitness-driven experiences, ADRENA adds a familiar energy while still feeling completely different from the UAE’s urban setting.

International surf brand Hurley will also host activations during Eid, while women-only Ladies Day events are scheduled every Monday and Thursday.

Eid celebrations will include music, food and family entertainment

The Eid experience at The Red Sea goes far beyond beaches and resort stays. Visitors can also expect live music performances, jazz evenings, beachfront BBQs and shopping pop-ups featuring local Saudi brands around Shura Marina.

Food is becoming another major part of the destination’s identity. At Desert Rock, renowned chef Osman Sezener will present a special five-course tasting menu during the holiday season, adding a fine-dining experience to the growing list of attractions.

Families travelling with children will also find plenty to keep younger visitors occupied, including poolside entertainment, marine-themed educational experiences and kids’ DJ festivals.

The atmosphere during Eid is expected to feel lively but relaxed — very different from the packed malls and crowded city hotspots many Dubai residents try to escape during long public holidays.

The Red Sea is quickly becoming a serious GCC holiday contender

Over the last few years, UAE travellers have shown growing interest in destinations closer to home that still deliver luxury, privacy and unique experiences. The Red Sea is clearly aiming to become one of those destinations.

With easier flight access from Dubai, expanding resort options and a packed Eid entertainment lineup, the destination is positioning itself as one of the region’s strongest short-haul holiday choices this summer.

For travellers already mentally checking out of office mode before Eid even begins, those extra flights may arrive at exactly the right time.
