Dubai to Add 100 EV Chargers Across Malls, Communities and Leisure Spots

DEWA and Parkin partner to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure under Dubai’s Green Mobility Strategy 2030

Dubai’s shift towards sustainable mobility is gaining pace as Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) signed a new agreement with Parkin Company PJSC to expand the emirate’s public charging network. The contract, announced during WETEX 2025, confirms the rollout of 100 electric vehicle (EV) chargers in key areas across the city.

The move supports the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030, which targets cleaner transport, lower emissions, and improved air quality.

New chargers to serve high-demand locations

The first phase of the project will see 100 EV chargers installed at residential communities, busy shopping malls, leisure destinations, and other public spaces. This expansion is designed to make EV charging more accessible and convenient for both residents and visitors.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, described the initiative as a vital step in Dubai’s sustainability plans. He noted that strengthening the city’s green transport network helps cut emissions from vehicles while encouraging a wider shift towards electric mobility.

Seamless collaboration between DEWA and Parkin

Under the partnership, DEWA will manage and operate the charging infrastructure, while Parkin will deliver services through its digital application. This structure ensures that EV drivers receive a smooth and reliable charging experience.

Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, said the project expands the company’s role beyond traditional car park operations. By placing chargers at high-traffic destinations, Parkin aims to support everyday convenience and contribute to Dubai’s progress as a smart city.

Growing demand for EV charging in Dubai

The adoption of EVs in Dubai is accelerating quickly. More than 19,000 customers were registered in DEWA’s EV Green Charger initiative by August 2025, with over 1,500 public charging points already available across the city. The additional 100 chargers will further strengthen this network, meeting the growing needs of the community of EV owners.

Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, Chairman of Parkin’s Board of Directors, added that the agreement highlights Dubai’s global standing in sustainability and future-ready infrastructure.

Supporting Dubai’s 2030 sustainability goals

The rollout forms part of wider efforts under the Green Mobility Strategy 2030, which aims to promote electric and hybrid transport across the emirate. By increasing the availability of public charging, Dubai is creating the conditions for more people to switch to electric vehicles confidently.

This approach supports the UAE’s long-term objectives, including the target of achieving net zero by 2050, while keeping Dubai at the forefront of sustainable urban development.
