5 Things To Know & Keep In Mind Before Shifting To Dubai

Dubai has the best of everything to offer. Be it a luxurious lifestyle, different worldly cuisines or high-speed internet facilities, the emirates offers everything. And if you have finally decided to take that plunge and shift to the UAE and Dubai in particular, here are five things you must know before shifting to Dubai.

1. Dubai Is An Expensive City

When you decide to shift to Dubai, do some research about the rent, cheap places to stay, etc., since Dubai is expensive when it comes to renting and the cost of living is high. You need to meticulously plan your budget and stick to it so that you can enjoy a comfortable life in Dubai. But be aware the first few months in the emirate will be full of hustle.

2. Important To Know The Rules

Dubai is fun, modern and a melting pot of culture, but it’s equally strict when it comes to rules. Hence before shifting your entire life to Dubai, make sure you research thoroughly about the rules. Things like- taking a picture of someone without consent, eating and drinking in all forms of public transport, swearing in public and several others things are a big NO in Dubai. You can be fined or even prisoned in some cases.

3. Dubai Summer Is A No Joke

If you are shifting to Dubai from hilly regions or a city like Mumbai with average heat, Dubai heat will get to you for a few months when you shift. However, you have to find ways to deal with it. From April to October, the heat in UAE can be tormentous. Do not step out in the Afternoons; hydrate yourself, make sure your AC is in good working condition, and you have a good collection of summer wear. Sunscreen is a must too.

4. There’s A Lot Of Traffic In Dubai

Dubai is very small, but there’s a lot of traffic, and you cannot escape it. With construction, development and one-way lanes, something is always happening in Dubai. So if you want to beat the traffic, Dubai metro is your BFF, or plan your timings in a way wherein you can escape the traffic. It will take you a while to get used to the traffic, but once you are a part of the hustle, you will know your way out.

5. Understand About Your Work Visa & Other Paper Work

In Dubai, your employers usually take care of your work and other paperwork, but it is always better to ask and clear all the doubts before shifting. Dubai is very strict with all this, so make sure you do thorough research, apply for the necessary documents and only step into the country once all your documents are in place.
