Ranveer Singh Gains Solid Backing from OG Roma played by Zeenat Aman, she hopes he finds the ‘Jungly Billi’ to his ‘don’

The recent revelation that Ranveer Singh is poised to step into the shoes of the titular character in the ‘Don’ franchise marks a new era for this iconic saga. Ranveer Singh has already ignited the legacy by delivering the unforgettable line, “Main Hoon Don,” taking the torch from Shah Rukh Khan, who has embodied the role since 2006.

Zeenat Aman hopes Ranveer Singh finds the Roma to his Don

The ‘Don’ legacy traces its roots back to the 1978 film, which saw Amitabh Bachchan as the charismatic Don and Zeenat Aman as the alluring Roma. This baton was then carried by Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra. While transitioning to Ranveer Singh as the new Don might require some adaptation, the support and endorsement of the OG Zeenat Aman, who portrayed the original Roma, add an invaluable seal of approval.

Ranveer Singh, in a heartfelt Instagram post, shared a series of photos from his childhood, where even as a young boy, he channelled the essence of the Don. Sporting sunglasses and wielding a toy gun, it’s clear that Ranveer had harboured dreams of playing this iconic character. His manifestations have indeed borne fruit, and he expressed his determination to make Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan proud as he carries their legacy forward.

But the sweetest part is the OG Roma played by the veteran actress Zeenat Aman shared a sweet comment. She wrote, “Congratulations, Ranveer!” but, what broke the internet is here – “May you find a worthy ‘jungly billi’ to your Don.” This was super cute.

The much-anticipated Don 3 is slated for a theatrical release in 2025.Speculations are also rife about the leading lady of the film, with Kiara Advani emerging as a strong contender. Kiara’s recent visit to Ritesh Sidhwani’s office ignited speculation that she might grace the screen as the female lead in this thrilling saga.

The movie will be directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Excel Entertainment.
