It seems like the Yo Yo Honey Singh and Badshah feud is aging like fine wine, getting spicier with every passing year. And this time, Honey Singh’s fans are adding their own fire to the mix. What’s going on, you ask?
Yo Yo Honey Singh & His Army Rides Strong
A Honey Singh superfan, Ridey Behl, recently threw major shade at Badshah in an Instagram Reel, claiming, “I made a Reel on Badshah, which Honey Singh also liked. I said that Badshah doesn’t deserve to be an Indian Idol judge. Subsequently, so many of Badshah’s fans abused me in the comment section and DMs. After Honey Singh liked the post, his fans also jumped in.”
If that wasn’t enough, Ridey doubled down with some seriously LOL-worthy analogies about honeycombs and perfume. But here’s the tea: He continued, “I’d like to apologise to all Badshah fans with folded hands that they’re Badshah fans. I’d also like to apologise that I said he doesn’t deserve to be an Indian Idol judge. In fact, he doesn’t deserve to be even a singer. What’s the point of abusing me? If I say I’ve applied Honey Oak perfume today, will you abuse me? No, right? There’s a honeycomb in my bathroom. Will you abuse me now? Tell me, is Badshah’s home immune to a honeycomb?) (laughs)”. Honey Singh not only liked Ridey’s previous Reel, but also commented on the new one. “Yo Yo Army is with you li’ll bro! Don’t worry,” wrote the singer. Ridey pinned Honey Singh’s comment on his Reel.
From Partners to Frenemies: The Mafia Mundeer Saga
Let’s rewind for the unversed. Once upon a time, Honey Singh and Badshah were part of the iconic rap crew Mafia Mundeer, alongside Raftaar, Ikka, and Lil Golu. Together, they dropped some absolute bangers like Khol Botal and Delhi Ke Deewane. But as Bollywood loves its drama, the duo had a fallout that led to a decade-long war of words and shady tracks.
Honey Singh Breaks His Silence
In a recent interview with India Today, Honey Singh spilled all the chai about his feud with Badshah. He shared, “People often ask me about my fight or controversy with Badshah. A fight happens when both people are involved, but for 10 years, one man kept abusing me, making songs about me, mocking my illness, and I never responded. It was only this year, in 2024, that I started speaking up, and that too because of my fans. Because of their encouragement, I broke my silence. He apologised and admitted his mistake, but he is the kind of person who spits and then licks it back. Just watch – he’ll flip again. I don’t consider people like that to be anything.”
Of course, Badshah’s fanbase wasn’t having any of this. After Ridey’s Reel went viral, they flooded his DMs and comment section with a storm of angry reactions. But did that stop Yo Yo’s Army? Absolutely not! Honey Singh’s loyal fan squad turned up the heat, making this battle royale a full-on rap reality show.
What’s Next for the Rap Kings?
While the feud brews on social media, Honey Singh has been busy promoting his documentary, produced by Oscar-winner Guneet Monga and directed by Mozez Singh. Meanwhile, Badshah is keeping things low-key (for now).
