UAE Weather Update: Light Rain Expected Across Several Areas This Weekend

Cloud cover, stronger winds, and cooler temperatures are forecast across parts of the UAE in the coming days.

Residents across the UAE could experience light rainfall and stronger winds over the next few days, according to the latest UAE weather update from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).

While Friday will remain mostly fair to partly cloudy, cloud cover is expected to increase over western regions, coastal areas, and islands. Forecasters say the changing weather pattern may bring scattered showers and fluctuating temperatures through the weekend and early next week.

For residents planning outdoor activities or beach trips, it may be worth keeping an eye on the skies.

Cloud Cover to Increase Across Western and Coastal Areas

The NCM forecasts fair to partly cloudy weather across the UAE on Friday, with clouds building gradually over the western regions.

This means areas closer to the coast and islands could see more noticeable cloud activity. Although rainfall will not be widespread initially, forecasters say the chance of light rain will increase over the weekend, particularly in western and coastal parts of the country.

Residents in cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi may notice more cloud cover than usual, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

For many residents, these mild weather shifts bring a welcome break from clear skies and rising temperatures.

Winds Expected to Strengthen in Some Areas

Another key feature in the UAE weather update is the strengthening of north-westerly winds across the country.

The NCM says winds will generally range between 10 km/h and 25 km/h, but they could increase to around 40 km/h at times, particularly in exposed western regions.

Stronger winds may lead to blowing dust in open areas, which can slightly reduce visibility for drivers in desert and rural locations.

Motorists travelling on highways outside major cities are advised to remain cautious during periods of gusty winds.

Rough Seas Forecast in the Arabian Gulf

Sea conditions are also expected to change in the coming days.

According to meteorologists, the Arabian Gulf will experience rough seas, especially during periods of stronger winds. Meanwhile, conditions in the Oman Sea are expected to remain moderate, though they could turn rough occasionally.

For fishermen, boat operators, and those planning marine activities, authorities recommend staying updated with official advisories.

Beachgoers may also notice stronger waves along parts of the UAE coastline.

Temperatures to Fluctuate Across the Country

The weather system will also bring noticeable temperature variations across different parts of the UAE.

Forecast temperatures include:

  • Inland areas: 25°C to 29°C during the day
  • Coastal areas and islands: 22°C to 26°C
  • Mountain regions: 20°C to 27°C

Night-time temperatures will drop further, particularly in interior and mountainous areas.

Overnight lows could reach around 11°C in inland regions and about 9°C in the mountains, making early mornings noticeably cooler.

For residents living in higher altitude areas such as the Hajar Mountains, the drop in temperature may feel more significant.

Rain Chances Increase on Sunday

While Friday and Saturday will mostly remain partly cloudy, Sunday is when the rain probability increases slightly.

The NCM says there is a chance of light rainfall across some western, coastal, and island areas.

Wind directions may also shift between north-westerly and north-easterly, with speeds potentially reaching up to 40 km/h.

Though rainfall is expected to be light and scattered, it could bring brief cooling and cloudy skies in some locations.

For residents hoping for rain, these passing showers may offer a refreshing change from the usual dry conditions.

Unsettled Weather Could Continue Into Early Next Week

The unsettled weather pattern is likely to extend into Monday and Tuesday, with partly cloudy skies continuing across the UAE.

Meteorologists say scattered rain remains possible, especially across western and northern regions of the country.

By Tuesday, temperatures may drop slightly in northern areas, while light to moderate winds continue across much of the country.

Although heavy rainfall is not expected at this stage, the changing weather signals a brief period of cooler, cloudier conditions for residents.

Residents across UAE may expect the change

For most people across the UAE, the coming days will bring mild weather changes rather than dramatic storms.

However, residents may notice:

  • Increased cloud cover
  • Occasional gusty winds
  • Rough sea conditions
  • Slightly cooler temperatures

Drivers should remain cautious in dusty areas, and beach visitors may want to check sea conditions before heading out.

Overall, the latest UAE weather update points to a few days of changing conditions across the country. Light rain, stronger winds, and fluctuating temperatures are expected through the weekend and early next week.

While rainfall will likely remain scattered and light, the cloudy skies and cooler temperatures could bring a refreshing shift to the usual weather pattern.
