UAE Weather: Warnings Trigger Reduced Speed Limits and Fog Alerts

Empowering Residents with Safety Measures and Real-time Updates

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued red and yellow alerts across various regions of the UAE weather today, cautioning residents about thick fog affecting visibility until 10 am. In response to the weather conditions, the Abu Dhabi Police has implemented reduced speed limits on certain roads to ensure the safety of motorists.

Adjusted Speed Limits for Road Safety

To enhance road safety in light of the current UAE weather, the Abu Dhabi Police has taken proactive measures by lowering the speed limit to 80 km/hr on specific roads. These include Mohammed Bin Rashid Road (Taff Bridge – Al Falah), Maktoum Bin Rashid Road (Al Smeeh – Al Shahama), and Abu Dhabi – Al Ain Road (Al Wathbah – Baniyas). Motorists are strongly urged to adhere to these adjusted speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

Weather Forecast and Temperature Trends

The NCM’s forecast indicates that temperatures are expected to decrease, particularly in the westward region. As the day progresses, the weather is anticipated to be generally fair with occasional cloud cover. However, residents should be prepared for increased humidity during the night and Wednesday morning, potentially leading to the formation of fog or mist in some internal areas.

Wind Patterns and Sea Conditions

According to the NCM, light to moderate winds are expected, gradually freshening by the evening over the sea. Sea conditions will range from slight to moderate, becoming rough gradually in the Arabian Gulf by night and remaining slight in the Oman Sea.

Temperature Extremes in UAE Regions

In terms of temperatures, the lowest is projected to drop to 7ºC in mountainous areas, while the highest is forecasted to reach 30ºC in internal regions. These weather patterns underscore the importance of staying informed about road conditions and taking necessary precautions while traveling in the diverse UAE weather conditions.
