Red Weather Warning

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a red weather warning for convective clouds covering key areas including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, and Fujairah. This warning signifies the potential for torrential rainfall, lightning, thunder, and hail.

Safety Measures in Place

To ensure the safety of residents, the UAE government has implemented various measures. Government workers are advised to work remotely, and private-sector employees are encouraged to do the same. In-person classes at Dubai private schools, nurseries, and universities have been suspended, with distance learning arrangements made to protect students and staff.

Disruptions and Precautions

The heavy rainfall has led to disruptions in transportation services, including major disruptions on the Dubai Metro Red line and temporary suspension of operations at Dubai International Airport due to flooding. Residents are urged to take precautions to minimize the impact of heavy rain and hailstorms.
