UAE Government Extends Passport Validity to 10 Years for Emiratis Over 21

Making Travel Easy: The New Passport Rules for Emiratis

In a move aimed at making life easier for its citizens, the UAE government has decided to extend the validity of Emirati passports for adults aged 21 and above from five years to ten years. This means that if you’re an Emirati over 21, you won’t have to renew your passport as frequently.

Why the Change?

The decision, which came after a recent Cabinet meeting chaired by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is part of the government’s efforts to simplify passport services and meet the changing needs of its people.

What’s New?

Now, Emiratis who are over 21 will enjoy an extra five years of passport validity. This not only makes traveling more convenient but also saves time and effort in renewing passports.

More Benefits on Passport

But that’s not all. The new amendment also introduces additional benefits, such as more facilities and comprehensive digital services, making the passport experience even smoother for citizens.

Government’s Commitment

This decision reflects the UAE government’s commitment to modernizing administrative processes and providing better services to its people. By keeping up with global standards and embracing digital advancements, the UAE aims to empower its citizens and make their lives easier.

Supporting the Youth

Moreover, this move shows the government’s support for the country’s youth and its dedication to improving citizen services. It’s part of a broader effort to enhance the overall quality of life for residents.

Green Initiative

During the same Cabinet meeting, the Council of Ministers also adopted a national policy for the circulation and manufacture of biofuels. This underscores the UAE’s commitment to promoting clean, sustainable, and low-carbon energy sources.

The decision to extend passport validity to ten years for Emiratis over 21 marks a significant step forward in the UAE’s efforts to improve citizen services and streamline administrative processes. As the government continues to prioritize innovation and efficiency, such measures contribute to the country’s ongoing development and prosperity.
