New UAE Visa Rules 2025: Who Can Move, Work, or Stay Without Hassle?

The UAE has introduced a new visa category aimed at attracting artificial intelligence (AI) specialists. This visa allows professionals in the AI field to enter the country on a single or multiple-entry basis. Applicants must be sponsored by a recognised technology institution, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to becoming a global hub for innovation.

Cruise and Maritime Tourism Visa: Enhancing Travel Options

To bolster its tourism sector, the UAE has launched a visa for cruise and maritime tourism. This multiple-entry visa is designed for tourists arriving via cruise ships or private yachts. Applicants must provide an approved itinerary and be sponsored by a licensed tour operator, facilitating seamless travel experiences.

Humanitarian Residency Permits: Offering Support in Times of Crisis

In a move to support individuals affected by crises, the UAE has introduced humanitarian residency permits. These permits are available for individuals displaced due to war, natural disasters, or political instability. The permits are valid for one year and can be renewed, providing stability and support during challenging times.

Support for Widows and Divorcees: Providing Stability

The UAE has updated its residency regulations to assist widows and divorcees. Foreign women who lose their Emirati or foreign husbands can now stay in the country for six months initially. Extensions are possible based on conditions such as custody arrangements and financial solvency, offering these individuals the opportunity to rebuild their lives.

Business Exploration and Truck Driver Visas: Facilitating Economic Growth

To encourage entrepreneurship and support the logistics sector, the UAE has introduced a “Business Exploration Visa.” This visa requires applicants to demonstrate financial solvency or active business operations abroad. The government established a new visa category for foreign truck drivers, but shipping or logistics companies must sponsor the drivers, and they must comply with insurance and financial requirements.
