UAE aims to become one of the most futuristic countries in the world and strives to achieve its zero-emission goals by 2050. And now, after adding electric cars- Tesla to its taxi fleets in Dubai and testing drone deliveries and driverless buses in Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi-based manufacturer Monarch Holding has partnered with Chinese company EHang Holdings to build electric-powered aircraft and passenger drones in the emirate. The Partnership Will Also Provide Opportunities For Emirati Talent
Monarch Holding and China’s EHang Holdings have signed a partnership agreement to manufacture and operate sustainable, electric-powered aircraft and drones for passengers and cargo transportation in Abu Dhabi. It is in line with Abu Dhabi’s aim to shift focus towards a sustainable economy. Thanks to this new partnership, Emiratis will also be given opportunities for training and qualification in various fields.
Furthermore, the project aims to build vertiports, facilities for operating electric aircraft and drones, manufacture sustainable electric aircraft, drones and more. It also supports Abu Dhabi’s Industrial Strategy, which aims to implement innovative technologies, green policies, and circular economy frameworks to form a sustainable and smart economy.

The project will also bring Abu Dhabi to the top position and establish the capital’s position as the smartest city in the Middle East and North Africa. Besides this, Dubai’s Arabia Taxi Transportation is already doing its bit by adding 269 new Tesla vehicles to its taxi fleet.
Customers Can Ride In Tesla Model 3 Cars From May
Arabia Taxi has around a fleet of 6,000 cars, and now customers can ride in Tesla Model 3 cars from May. The company in association with Tesla Motors in Dubai, has added these fancy electric cars to its fleet. This move is just one step toward making 100 per cent taxis in Dubai environmentally friendly by 2027 by increasing and introducing hybrid, electric, and hydrogen cars. In 2022, 11,300 taxis were functioning on the streets of Dubai- from that, 8,220 were eco-friendly. In fact, 83 per cent of Arabia Taxi’s fleet is already running on hybrid technology.
Speaking about Tesla Cabs, this isn’t the first time that Teslas have been introduced in the public transport space in Dubai. In 2017, RTA launched 172 Tesla vehicles as part of its fancier limousine fleet and added 80 Tesla Model S, 50 Tesla Model X, and 42 Tesla Model 3. After introducing these taxis, RTA recorded positive indicators in terms of customer satisfaction and zero carbon emissions.
