Triptii Dimri no longer a part of Aashiqui 3?
After the grand announcement of Aashiqui 3, which even included a mahurat shot with Triptii and Kartik, fans were on cloud nine. However, Tuesday’s headlines brought heartbreak as reports revealed that Triptii had exited the project.
According to Mid-Day, Triptii was all in for Aashiqui 3. But when title disputes led to indefinite delays, she decided to bow out. Insiders whisper that it wasn’t just the delays that pushed her away. The role, described as one requiring “innocence and purity,” reportedly clashed with Triptii’s evolving on-screen image. Post-Animal, where she embraced a bold avatar, the makers felt she no longer fit the bill.
A Casting Conundrum
One source spilled the tea, claiming that after Triptii’s look test, the filmmakers felt her recent choices didn’t align with the character’s vibe. Apparently, the Aashiqui 3 heroine is meant to exude a dreamy, naïve charm, which the makers believe Triptii’s bolder roles overshadowed.
Rumour has it that the decision may also have been mutual, with Triptii unwilling to wait around for the endlessly postponed project. The makers were looking for a “fresher face” now that Triptii has become a well known personality in Bollywood.
The Curious Case of Aashiqui 3
The film has already seen its fair share of drama. Initially co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt, it underwent a rebranding saga in March 2024 when Bhushan announced a solo production titled Tu Aashiqui Hai. Kartik Aaryan, however, reportedly wanted to stick with the original Aashiqui franchise, causing further delays.
Directed by the ever-talented Anurag Basu, the film’s timeline remains uncertain, leaving fans waiting for a love story that seems as elusive as Bollywood gossip without drama.

While Aashiqui 3 may no longer be her playground, Triptii Dimri’s career graph is only going upwards. With her bold choices and undeniable talent, she’s redefining what it means to be a leading lady in Bollywood. And as for Aashiqui 3, the search for its leading lady continues.
