The Maddock horror-comedy universe is ready to give us Thama, and this time it looks like a longing of love drenched in horror and sprinkled with comedy, with none other than Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui leading the madness.
The Thama teaser is all things wild, wicked, and wow
The teaser kicks off on a sugary-sweet note, Ayushmann and Rashmika playing star-crossed lovers who seem inseparable. Just when you think this is a mushy rom-com, boom! Enter Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and the vibes switch faster than a horror jump-scare. What looked like roses now reeks of blood, bats, and broken promises.
Ayushmann, Rashmika & Nawaz: Who’s Who In This Twisted Tale
Ayushmann Khurrana is Alok, dramatically introduced as “Insaaniyat ki aakhri umeed.” He’s charming, heroic, and just mysterious enough to keep us guessing. Rashmika Mandanna becomes Tadaka, glowing as “Roshni ki pehli kiran.” She’s the spark, the dream, and probably the reason Ayushmann’s character loses his mind to love. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, oh boy, steals the thunder as Yakshasan, the self-proclaimed “Andhere ka Badshah.” If looks could kill, this guy already buried the romance six feet under. Then there’s Paresh Rawal, slipping in as Mr. Ram Bajaj Goyal, the man who finds “tragedy in comedy” and is all set to balance the bloodshed with belly laughs.
The teaser doesn’t just tease, it tempts! Apart from glimpses of haunting romance and vampire drama, we also get flashes of song sequences. Guess what? Malaika Arora is back to set the screen on fire with a sizzling dance number that promises to be a chartbuster.
From Delhi To Vijayanagar: A Tale Across Time
Not your usual spooky story, Thama shifts gears between present-day Delhi and the ancient city of Vijayanagar. Ayushmann plays a historian caught between flashbacks, heartbreak, and blood-soaked mysteries.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Thama hits theatres this Diwali 2025. While it promises to light up the festival with blood-red romance, it won’t have it easy, standing tall against Kartik Aaryan & Sreeleela’s big Anurag Basu project. Looks like this Diwali box office will see fireworks and fangs.
Thama isn’t just another horror comedy, it’s a love story that dares to dip itself in blood and laughter in equal measure. With Ayushmann’s charm, Rashmika’s spark, Nawaz’s dark magic, and Malaika’s glamour, this film is about to be one hell of a spooky-romantic rollercoaster.
