The lovebirds, who first crossed paths at the Indian Badminton League in 2013, finally tied the knot on March 23 in a dreamy ceremony in Udaipur, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. While a few sneaky snapshots and clips from their intimate affair have made their way onto social media, Taapsee Pannu has now officially confirmed the news and spoken up about why it was a private affair.

During a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Taapsee Pannu opened up about why she chose to keep her wedding to Mathias Boe a private affair. Talking about the ‘secret wedding,’ she said, “I’m not very sure if I want to let my personal life and the people involved in it, to go through the kind of scrutiny that happens when a public figure gets married. It’s me who has signed up for this, not my partner, not the people who were involved in the wedding. I am not sure about how I feel about it being out there, that’s why I’ve kept it to myself.”

She further said, “The intention was never to keep it a secret; I just didn’t want to make it a public affair, because then I will start getting worried about how it is perceived, rather than really enjoying the way I would want to do it. Subconsciously, I would start thinking about how it feels from the outside which I did not want to think about, especially for this one thing, because it’s hopefully happening once in life!”
She added, “The people who are genuinely close to me, were a part of the celebration and always knew about my relationship and my intentions about when and how I want to get married.”
With all the celebrity wedding pictures and videos hype, Taapsee Pannu reveals that she is not interested in releasing a wedding video or sunset pictures! The actress said, “I have no plans for a release of any kind. I don’t think I am mentally prepared to put that out right now. I knew people who were there. They wanted to be there for me and were not present to judge. That’s why I was pretty relaxed.“ She added, “In the future, if I get comfortable sharing about wedding details, we will figure out how, what and when I want to release something if at all.”
Taapsee spilled the tea that her sis, Shagun Pannu, is not just a sister but also her partner-in-crime in the wedding biz. Yep, you heard it right! These sisters aren’t just slaying the silver screen, they’re also owning the wedding planning scene like nobody’s business.
On the work front, she is all set to star in ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahan’ opposite the dashing Pratik Gandhi and the sequel to the Netflix sensation ‘Haseen Dilruba’ titled ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba,’ where she’s set to steal our hearts once again with the charming Vikrant Massey by her side.
