What Really Went Down Between Shah Rukh Khan & Sunny Deol
Flashback to 1993 – Darr was all the rage, Shah Rukh Khan scared the bejeezus out of everyone with “K-k-k-Kiran,” and Sunny Deol was the ultimate righteous hero. But while the film raked in big bucks and praise, things behind the scenes were far from rosy. Word on the street (and now confirmed by Sunny himself) is that he wasn’t thrilled about SRK’s villain stealing the spotlight. Just like that the fallout began
Fast forward to the Gadar 2 success bash, and the unthinkable happened. Sunny and SRK shared a warm hug that had everyone doing a double-take. Did these two bury the hatchet? Looks like yes. Sunny Paaji sets the record straight
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Sunny was asked about working in a two-hero film and who he’d choose as his co-star. Without skipping a beat, the Gadar star took us all by surprise: “I did only one film with Shah Rukh. So we can do another. It would be nice because that was a different period, and now it’s a different period, so definitely”. Sunny Paaji is ready to let bygones be bygones and manifest another epic collaboration with King Khan.
While reminiscing about the old-school filmmaking days, Sunny dropped a truth bomb: “Earlier, our directors had control over the whole thing. Today our directors don’t have that much control, and the stories are not being made in a way that would justify the images of the actors. That is very important.”
Now that the two have hugged it out, fans are already praying to the film gods for a high-octane, emotion-packed Sunny-SRK reunion. Imagine the screen literally shaking from all that energy. Someone, please write the perfect script before this moment passes!
