Looks like Anna flipped the switch real quick when a performer decided to try his luck at mimicking him and trust us, it did not go down well.
Suniel Shetty Angered by Mimicry Artist
At a recent event in Karond, Bhopal, an artist hopped on stage, ready to woo the crowd by recreating some of Suniel’s iconic dialogues. But instead of applause, he got the wrath of Anna. Suniel didn’t just roll his eyes; he literally gave a live masterclass on how not to mimic him.
In the viral clip, Suniel can be seen stopping the performance mid-way, calling out the artist in front of everyone. His words? Brutal. He said, “Tab se yeh bhaisahab alag alag dialogues bol rahe hain jo meri awaaz mein hain hi nahi. Itna ghatiya mimicry maine kabhi dekha nahi hai. Jab Suniel Shetty bolta hai toh ek mard ki tarah bolta hai… Yeh bachche ki tarah bol raha tha. Beta jab mimicry karte ho toh achi karni chahiye… Kharab nakal nahi karni chahiye (Since then, this gentleman has been delivering random dialogues that don’t even sound like my voice. I’ve never seen such pathetic mimicry. When Suniel Shetty speaks, he speaks like a man… but this guy was sounding like a kid. Son, when you do mimicry, do it well… don’t make a lousy copy).”
Embarrassed, the artist quickly apologised and clarified that he wasn’t even trying to mimic Suniel. But Anna wasn’t buying it. He doubled down, saying, “Koshish karna bhi mat beta. Abhi bahut time hai Suniel Shetty banne mein. Peeche bal bandha ne kuch nahi hota… Abhi bacha hai, lagta hai Suniel Shetty ki action films dekhi nahi hai isne (Don’t even try, kid. You’ve got a long way to go before you become Suniel Shetty. Tying your hair back doesn’t make you one… Looks like you haven’t watched Suniel Shetty’s action films.”
Once the video hit social media, the internet had its say. Some fans felt Suniel was right – after all, bad mimicry is cringe. But many others called him “too harsh” and felt he could’ve handled it with a bit more grace. Either way, the clip’s got everyone talking.
