The developers of the project intend to transform Abu Dhabi’s cultural and live events scene, positioning the city among global destinations celebrated for cutting-edge entertainment venues.
Sphere Abu Dhabi Moves Towards Reality
The Las Vegas Sphere, which opened in 2023, has become an international sensation for its dazzling exterior displays and unrivalled immersive experiences. With a seating capacity of around 20,000 and state-of-the-art technology that delivers 16K resolution visuals, it has quickly established itself as a revolutionary venue for concerts, performances, and large-scale events.
Building on that success, Abu Dhabi is preparing to replicate and expand on this concept. The pre-construction phase of Sphere Abu Dhabi, carried out in close coordination with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, is now in its final stages. Once it begins operations, the venue will rank among the largest and most technologically advanced of its kind anywhere in the world.
