With the digital world expanding by the day, these social media influencers are seeking ways to translate their online popularity into on-screen stardom. And let’s be real it is simply irresistible. As for the filmmakers and showrunners, they are drawn to the idea of tapping into the dedicated fan base of these influencers to give their content an electrifying boost. But, these influencers have proved themselves that they have got it in them, they’re not only walking red-carpets but also becoming the most viewed and loved!

Here’s a list of social media influencers whose acting prowess undeniably demands attention

1) Sahil Khattar

Sahil Khattar is a guy who is super energetic and he started off as a radio jockey. However, it was through his captivating YouTube videos for ‘Being India’, where he fearlessly ventured into vox pop territory with college students, that he caught the eye of the masses. Sahil’s infectious energy and natural talent soon earned him numerous hosting gigs, solidifying his position as a rising star. He got his big Bollywood break, in the film ’83,’ starring Ranveer Singh. He took on the role of talented wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani in this sports drama. The movie ’83’ boasts a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Chirag Patil, and Adinath Kothare, with the stunning Deepika Padukone gracing the screen as Kapil’s wife, Romi Dev.

2) Prajakta Koli

We all knew her as Mostlysane on YouTube, the one and only Prajakta Kol has taken the digital realm by storm. This fabulous powerhouse is renowned for her razor-sharp insights into the ups and downs of daily life and for making us laugh with her comedy sketches. Prajakta not only debuted in a movie with top stars but also got her very own web series on Netflix which is now renewed for a season 3. She made her Bollywood debut with ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ where she played Varun Dhawan’s sister Ginni. The movie also stars Neetu Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Kiara Advani. 

3) Carry Minati

Ajey Nagar, famously known as Carry Minati has conquered the digital world. He is renowned for his razor-sharp roasts of videos and people alike, and has also made his grand entrance into the glitzy realm of Bollywood. Carry Minati was seen in the movie ‘Runway 34’, alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn. 

4) Dolly Singh

This fashion blogger turned social media influencer just made her stunning debut on the red carpet of the 76th Cannes Film Festival. Dolly Singh made her acting debut with the comedy Netflix series ‘Bhaag Beanie Bhaag’. She played the role of the main protagonist’s best friend Kapi, essayed by Swara Bhasker. 

5) Kusha Kapila

Kusha Kapila bid adieu to her 9-to-5 job and set her sights on conquering the digital realm. After graduating from NIFT, she quickly rose to fame with her hilarious portrayals of South Delhi aunties and a series of comedic videos aimed at the young and trendy. She has graced other shows with her incredible presence, including the uproarious ‘LOL: Hasse Toh Phasse’ and the anthology series ‘Ghost Stories.’ Kusha was also seen in the second season of ‘Masaba Masaba,’ playing the role of Masaba’s pregnant PR, a driven individual who stops at nothing to promote her famous client. She was also seen in the Netflix movie ‘Plan A Plan B’ alongside Riteish Deshmukh and Tamannaah Bhatia. That’s not all she was last seen on the big screen in Akshay Kumar’s movie ‘Selfiee’.

6) Bhuvan Bam

Bhuvan Bam is a comedian, author, musician, singer, and YouTuber. Basically, he is all in one and super talented! He rose to fame because of his hilarious YouTube comedy channel, ‘BB Ki Vines’. He has sung quite a lot of songs which are some of our favourites. He launched a YouTube web series called ‘Dhindhora’. Not only that be he featured in a lead role in the Hotstar series ‘Taaza Khabar’. 

7) Mallika Dua

Mallika Dua initially made her mark as a comedian, but it was her viral video titled ‘Shit People Say: Sarojini Nagar Edition’ that catapulted her to fame. Mallika wrote, styled, and starred in the video, which quickly gained widespread attention. Her comedic talents and social media presence had already made her a sensation prior to her decision to fully dedicate herself to acting. In the comedy-drama film ‘Hindi Medium,’ directed by Saket Chaudhary, Mallika Dua made a memorable cameo appearance alongside Irrfan Khan. This marked her first foray into the world of acting, showcasing her versatility and comedic timing. Following her successful debut, Mallika went on to appear in other notable films such as ‘Namaste England’ and ‘Zero’ and ‘Indoo Ki Jawani’ opposite Kiara Advani.
