In a spectacular celebration of the 52nd Union Day of the United Arab Emirates, the Sheikh Zayed Festival is all set to enchant visitors with a three-day extravaganza from December 1st to 3rd, 2023. Nestled in the heart of Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, the festival promises an unforgettable experience featuring grand events, dazzling fireworks, mesmerizing drone shows, captivating Emirates Fountain performances, and the International Civilisations Parade.
Under the theme “Hayakum,” meaning “Welcome,” the festival is meticulously planned to bring together citizens, residents, and global tourists in unity. The festivities kick off at 4 pm and continue until 1 am, offering an array of cultural, heritage, and entertainment activities across various government entities, participant pavilions, and festival grounds.
Union Parade and Cultural Celebrations:
The Union Parade, scheduled for December 3rd, will showcase a national image of patriotism and belonging, reflecting the principles of sustainable development envisioned by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Sheikh Zayed festival’s pavilions, adorned with special decorations commemorating Union Day, include the “Heritage Village,” offering insights into authentic Emirati heritage across four environments: mountainous, agricultural, marine, and desert.

Fireworks, Drones, and Emirates Fountain Shows:
The skies above the festival will be ablaze with dazzling displays, featuring drone shows with artistic drawings illuminating the night sky. The Emirates Fountain, one of the largest in the region, will showcase spectacular shows featuring a fusion of lights, vibrant colors of the UAE flag, music, and laser displays.

Visitors of all ages can participate in the “Most Beautiful Emirati Heritage Costume” competition, showcasing the beauty and diversity of Emirati heritage. The Majalis Abu Dhabi Photography Award offers a chance to win a cash prize of Dh25,000, celebrating the identity and aesthetic values of Emirati heritage.
Sheikh Zayed Festival: Family-Friendly Atmosphere:
The Sheikh Zayed festival offers a Fun Fair City with various games for all age groups, artistic performances, and heritage competitions at the Children’s Theater. Children can engage in workshops, competitions, and live performances, and enjoy a festive atmosphere with surprises and gifts.
