Sharjah’s focus on adventure and ecotourism is not new to the region. In line with this, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), revealed multiple updates pertaining to unique and exciting projects at this year’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM). One of the biggest and most-anticipated is the opening of a new adventure park next year in Khor Fakkan.

Zip Line, Giant Swing And Dry Slide To Open At Khor Fakkan
Khor Fakkan Adventure is a new ecotourism project launching at Al Soueifa mountain. The new project includes a zip line that will guests soar over Luluyah Beach, a giant swing, dry slide, hiking tracks and mountain bike trails- bringing together entertainment, sports, leisure and adventure under one roof.

We believe that these projects will successfully fulfil the aspirations of both prospective travellers as well as tourists looking at Sharjah and the UAE, thereby contributing to the emirate’s economic growth,” said Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq.

Besides, Khor Fakkan, which was named the best Arab tourist city this year, is not the only destination under construction. Shurooq’s existing luxury tented resorts and eco-retreats are being expanded across the emirate.
The expansion of the Mysk Kingfisher Retreat in the beautiful mangroves of Kalba, is also underway. The retreat will feature 15 new luxury tented structures with swimming pools, ranging from one to three bedrooms.
The project, in the heart of Sharjah’s desert and embellished with a range of modern comforts is to be finalised in the third quarter of 2023, bringing the total to 25 traditionally styled structured tents, the project is currently housing 21 luxury rooms and 10 tents.
Nomad by Mysk – a roaming glamping trailer concept, and the Lux Collective – an eco-friendly resort located on the slopes of Al Soueifa mountain, are some of the other projects you can expect to see in Sharjah very soon.
