New Roads and Pedestrian Bridges Make Travel Easier in Sharjah’s Al Sajaah Industrial Area

Making Travel Easier in Sharjah’s Al Sajaah Industrial Area

The Sharjah Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently completed a significant infrastructure project aimed at making daily commutes smoother and safer for those in the Al Sajaah Industrial Area. The project includes new roads and pedestrian bridges that promise to improve the quality of life for residents and workers in the area.

Improving Traffic and Safety

The Al Sajaah Industrial Area, known for its busy commercial activities, has long faced challenges with traffic congestion and safety. Trucks and commercial vehicles, in particular, had difficulty navigating the narrow roads, leading to frequent traffic jams and safety risks for both drivers and pedestrians.

What the New Project Includes

To tackle these issues, the Sharjah RTA has built two new roads, adding a total of 9.5 km to the area’s road network. These new roads are designed to ease traffic flow and make the area safer for everyone.

New Roads:
One of the new roads connects Intersection Number 8 on Al Dhaid Road to the Al Sajaah Area. It features two extra lanes, each 2.2 km long and 7.4 m wide, with a 12 m wide central median. This road also has traffic signals and crossings to keep things moving smoothly and safely.

Better Traffic Flow:
To make driving easier, the project includes two U-turns and six slip roads at a roundabout in the area. These are especially helpful for trucks and commercial vehicles, which can now get around more easily.

Public Transport Stops:
The new roads also have six public bus stops, making it easier for people to use public transport. The project has also added parking spaces near local mosques, with 144 spots available. Asphalt shoulders have been added to the roads to improve safety, and foundations for lighting poles have been laid to ensure visibility at night.

Pedestrian Bridges Enhance Safety

The addition of pedestrian bridges is one of the most important features of this project. These bridges are placed strategically to help people cross the roads safely, reducing the risk of accidents and making the area safer for everyone.

Positive Impact on the Community

This project is more than just a road upgrade; it’s a big step forward for the community. The new roads and pedestrian bridges improve safety and accessibility, attracting businesses and boosting the local economy in Al Sajaah Industrial Area.

Moving Forward

Sharjah’s commitment to improving its infrastructure is clear with the completion of this project. The new roads and pedestrian bridges in Al Sajaah Industrial Area improve traffic flow and safety, making daily life easier for residents and workers. These projects are vital for Sharjah’s growth, ensuring the emirate remains a great place to live and work.
