Bollywood’s charmer Shahid Kapoor has kept us entertained through out the years! Whether it be with his intense roles, lover boy era or comic timings – He has nailed it all. The actor just served up some piping-hot truth about his early days in the industry! The talented heartthrob, known for his stellar performances in movies like ‘Ishq Vishk,’ ‘Jersey,’ ‘Kabir Singh,’ and more, recently dished on how he felt about being branded as a ‘chocolate boy’ during the initial stages of his career.
Shahid Kapoor reveals why he didn’t like being called a choloate boy
In a recent interview, Shahid Kapoor spilled the tea revealing, “When I did Ishq Vishk, the word that was associated with me was ‘chocolate boy’. I felt extremely bad, I wondered what did that even mean, ye chocolate boy hota kya hai (What does this chocolate boy mean)? I am an artist, I want to express, I am not here only for visual gratification. Looking good, dressing well etc are just one layer, then you have to dig deep and I started doing just that. I completely changed myself, I didn’t want to be clean-shaven and do the same thing. That became exciting for me.”
Talk about a glow-up! Shahid Kapoor, the man himself, took charge, steering away from the conventional ‘chocolate boy’ image and diving into the depths of his craft. It wasn’t just about looking good anymore, it was about expressing, evolving, and adding layers to his performances.
Shahid shared a valuable piece of advice from his father, saying, “My father told me, beta jis din acting karna shuru kar doge, sher ke muh me khoon lag jayega (Son, the day you start acting, blood will flow in the lion’s mouth). You will derive the most happiness from that. Somewhere in the middle of my career, this happened with me. So now I just want that – even though I am vegetarian.” Talk about a transformation from a ‘chocolate boy’ to a metaphorical lion!
Shahid Kapoor is all set to grace the big screen once again, this time with ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,’ where he shares the spotlight with the fabulous Kriti Sanon. The trailer has already given us a sneak peek into their sizzling chemistry, and we can’t wait for the full dose of Shahid magic. ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ is all set to hit theatres on 9th February, 2024.
