Alia Bhatt might be one of the brightest stars Bollywood has ever produced, but trolls? They never clock out. This time, once again landed in the eye of an online storm, all thanks to a video that was meant to inspire but ended up becoming troll-fodder.
Alia Bhatt Says “No To Nasha,” Internet Says “No To Alia”
The Narcotics Control Bureau (Chandigarh division) thought they had struck gold by roping in Alia Bhatt to front their “drug-free Bharat” campaign. She appeared in a video looking all serious, urging citizens to take an e-pledge against addiction. The vibe was clear: say yes to life, say no to drugs. Sounds impactful, right? Well, the internet didn’t think so.
Within hours, the video went viral – racking up over a million views – but the comment section turned into a battlefield. Critics called her an “odd pick” for the campaign, while memes and snarky one-liners flew left, right, and centre. One user roasted, “Like, who is out there refusing drugs because Alia Bhatt told them to? Stop making us take pledges.” Another threw shade with, “Bollywood preaching about drugs is the biggest joke of all.”
The caption on the NBC post read, “Alia Bhatt joins hands with NCB to spread the message of a #Dr*gsFreeBharat #NashaMuktBharat #azadifromdr*gs.”

NCB disabled the comments
After just six spicy comments, the NCB decided to pull the plug and disabled the comments section altogether. But, of course, the trolls weren’t done. Quote-tweets popped up everywhere, with users digging up Ranbir Kapoor’s old confession about using weed during Rockstar just to spice up the discourse. Alia’s husband got dragged into the drama too.
Despite the hate, some fans praised her for taking up the cause, reminding everyone that she’s more than her trolls. Let’s be real, no matter what’s said online, Alia’s track record proves she doesn’t just survive controversy, she thrives through it.
What’s next for alia?
While the internet’s busy roasting her, Alia’s calendar is busier than ever. She last lit up screens in Vasan Bala’s Jigra and is currently in full power mode with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Love & War alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. She also has YRF’s first female spy film Alpha with Sharvari under Yash Raj Films.
