Saudia Airlines Offers Free Rebooking and Refunds Amid Regional Flight Disruptions

Passengers affected by airspace disruptions can change flights, claim refunds, or convert tickets into travel credit.

Travellers flying with Saudia Airlines now have greater flexibility as the airline rolls out new options for passengers impacted by recent regional airspace disruptions.

The Saudi national carrier has confirmed that affected travellers can rebook flights, request full refunds, or convert tickets into travel credit without paying additional fees. The move comes as several routes across the region continue to experience schedule changes and temporary suspensions.

For UAE residents and frequent travellers between the Gulf and neighbouring destinations, the update brings some relief. With flights being adjusted and routes gradually reopening, Saudia says the flexible policy is designed to reduce travel stress while keeping safety as the airline’s top priority.

Flexible Travel Options Now Available For Passengers

Passengers whose bookings were affected by flight changes now have multiple choices depending on their travel plans.

The airline confirmed that travellers can rebook another flight within the Saudia network without paying any extra charges. This option allows passengers to adjust their travel schedule while staying within the airline’s route system.

Another alternative is converting the ticket into a travel credit for future use. This credit remains valid for a set period, giving passengers the flexibility to plan their trip at a later date.

Travellers can also change their travel dates without additional fees, provided seats are available on the selected flights. According to the airline, this option will remain open for up to 14 days after services resume on affected routes.

For those who decide not to travel at all, Saudia has introduced a full refund option without cancellation penalties. This allows passengers to cancel their bookings and receive their money back without additional charges.

These flexible policies are part of the airline’s effort to support passengers during uncertain travel conditions across the region.

Transit Passengers May Experience Delays

Passengers travelling through major Saudia hubs such as Jeddah and Riyadh may experience delays if their connecting flights are affected by ongoing schedule adjustments.

For travellers in transit, the airline has introduced three possible solutions.

First, passengers can wait until services fully resume and continue their journey later. This option allows travellers to complete their trip when the route becomes operational again.

Second, the airline may offer alternative routing through its network, depending on seat availability and the final destination.

The third option is the “travel later” choice, where the ticket value is stored and can be used at a later date without penalties.

For many UAE travellers who often connect through Saudi Arabia to reach Europe, Asia, or other Middle Eastern destinations, these measures provide important flexibility while routes stabilise.

Several Regional Routes Were Temporarily Suspended

Due to ongoing disruptions in regional airspace, several routes experienced temporary suspensions earlier this month.

Flights to and from cities such as Amman, Kuwait City, Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Manama were suspended until March 12, 2026 (11:59 PM). While some limited services may still operate, schedules remain subject to change depending on airspace conditions.

In addition, flights to international destinations such as Moscow and Peshawar were cancelled until March 15, 2026.

Airlines across the region have been closely monitoring developments, adjusting operations where necessary to ensure passenger safety.

Dubai Flights Gradually Returning

There is some positive news for travellers flying to the UAE. Flights to Dubai have gradually resumed, although services are currently operating on a reduced schedule.

Passengers planning to travel from or through Dubai are encouraged to check their flight status before heading to the airport. Since schedules can change quickly, confirming the booking in advance can help avoid unnecessary delays or confusion at the terminal.

The airline has also advised travellers to complete bookings before arriving at the airport, ensuring that only confirmed passengers proceed to check-in.

Updates about flight changes, cancellations, or schedule adjustments will continue to be sent directly to passengers using the contact details linked to their booking.

Those who booked through travel agencies are advised to contact their agent directly if they need to rebook or modify their trip.

Travellers Encouraged To Stay Updated

Air travel across the region continues to evolve as airlines adapt to changing airspace conditions. Saudia says it will continue reviewing its operational plans and releasing updates when new information becomes available.

For UAE residents who frequently travel between the Gulf and other international destinations, staying informed has become essential. Checking airline updates, confirming bookings early, and planning flexible travel dates can help reduce last-minute stress.

Saudia’s latest announcement gives passengers more breathing room during a period of uncertainty in regional air travel. By offering free rebooking, full refunds, and flexible travel credits, the airline is helping travellers adjust their plans without financial penalties.

While several routes are still stabilising, flights are gradually resuming across the region. Travellers flying from the UAE or connecting through Saudi Arabia are advised to stay updated and confirm their bookings before heading to the airport.
