Bollywood’s very own star kid Sara Ali Khan has proved that her family’s talents runs in her viens. She opens up about her journey growing up with a single mom and carving her path in the tinsel town! For the unversed, Sara Ali Khan is the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. Her parents splited ways in 2004 after 13years of marriage.
Kicking off 2024 with a bang, Sara Ali Khan is all set to dazzle with her more stellar performances. But behind the glitz and glamour lies a tale of resilience and determination. In a recent chat with ETimes, Sara spilled the beans on her upbringing with a single mother and the valuable lessons it imparted.
Sara Ali Khan Opens Up About Life with Single Mom
Reflecting on her upbringing, Sara remarked, “I think living with a single mother has a huge role to play in it. At a very early age, I realised koi aapke liye kuchh karne nahi wala (nobody is going to do anything for you). It’s not that I don’t get help, I do. But ultimately, you are the mover and initiator of your life. If you are lucky, stars align and God wills, then it will happen. You can’t be waiting around for things to happen, it doesn’t work like that.”
Sara is all set to grace the big screen as the leading lady in Ae Watan Mere Watan, where she promises to showcase a side of herself that even she hasn’t explored before. Speaking about her role, she gushed, “It is the most gratifying experience to be headlining a film like this. It’s about time, because you are going to see a side of me which even I have not seen before. My self-deprecating humour can keep going on, but I am about to say something which I haven’t said in a long time, and that is why I’m really proud of myself. The last time I felt like that was during Kedarnath. I’m being honest.”
Directed by the Kannan Iyer, Ae Watan Mere Watan boasts of a stellar cast, including the versatile Emraan Hashmi in a special appearance. The film will release on Amazon Prime Video – 21 March 2024.
