Every single year, even though her parents, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, come from two different faiths, Sara makes sure she bows down to both worlds with equal love. Not Hindu, Not Muslim – Sara Ali Khan Is Just Indian
When asked about her constant celebration of multiple festivals, Sara served up the most iconic line ever: “Honestly, for me, people have asked way too many times about being multicultural. But I simply believe I’m an Indian. Whatever my spiritual beliefs may be, at the core of it there’s a very strong pulse of just being Indian. And to me, being Indian means celebrating all kinds of festivals. We celebrate Eid, we celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, we celebrate Christmas, and I feel that empathy isn’t as prevalent as it should be, but festivals allow for it.”
Whether it’s Eid ke sheer khurma, Ganpati ka aarti, or Christmas ka plum cake, Sara believes in going all out. “You celebrate Eid with a Muslim friend as fully and wholeheartedly as you would celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with someone who has a Ganpati idol at home and has invited you to seek blessings and share in their joy. That invitation, that gratitude, that sense of belonging… it all matters deeply,“ she shares.
Work Mode Never Off For Sara
While juggling dhols and diyas, Sara’s also been slaying on the big screen. Her last outing Metro… In Dino was a box office delight. Fans loved her as Chumki, relatable, quirky, and oh-so-Sara. And let’s not ignore her fresh chemistry with Aditya Roy Kapur, which had audiences manifesting another film with them already.
