One day, Deepika Padukone was set to sizzle on screen with Prabhas in Spirit, and then she was gone. While there’s been no official confimration from her team, the rumours say it had something to do with an uncomfortable intimate scene. Just like that, the lead lady made a graceful Bollywood backflip out of the project.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga doesn’t hold back when it comes to voicing his opinions. The Animal director took to Twitter to vent it all out. No names were dropped, but he threw heavy shade. He slammed “dirty PR games” and accused a certain someone of betrayal, drama, and weaponizing feminism.
He wrote, “When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You’ve ‘DISCLOSED’ the person that you are… Putting down a younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn’t get it. You won’t get it. You will never get it. Aisa karo… Agli baar poori kahani bolna… kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha. #dirtyPRgames I like this kahawath very much.”
Sandeep unfollows Deepika on Instagram?
The eagle-eyed social media police were quick to notice something or someone missing. Deepika is nowhere to be found on Sandeep’s Insatgram ‘following’ list anymore. Whether he ever followed her in the first place is anyone’s guess, but the unfollowing narrative? It’s all just gossip as of now. Ranveer Singh, however, has somehow survived the purge and is still sitting pretty on Vanga’s follow list.
Triptii Dimri Bags the Role
With Deepika officially out of the frame, the Spirit team wasted no time signing up the internet’s new darling – Triptii Dimri. The Animal girl is reportedly charging a cool ?4 crore for the role, which is a lot less than the Rs. 20 crore Deepika was reportedly asking. From replacing a global superstar to being the new face of a mega film, Triptii just upgraded like a queen.
Sources are whispering that Deepika’s exit wasn’t just about one scene. Apparently, she came with her own rulebook – shorter shoot days, and a slice of the film’s profits. But clearly, it didn’t vibe with Vanga’s vision, and the result? A casting shake-up that’s now the talk of tinseltown.
Sure, the casting carousel may have spun a little wildly, but Spirit is far from sinking. With Prabhas still locked in and Triptii stepping in with fresh energy, the film is cruising ahead – scandal or not.
