Saif’s Bandra residence became a crime scene after the shocking attack. But plot twist! None of the 19 fingerprints collected matched those of the arrested suspect, Shariful Islam Shehzad. Shariful, a Bangladeshi national, was nabbed by Mumbai Police for allegedly attacking the star. But according to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), his prints were a total mismatch.

The case is now murkier than ever. Social media detectives are buzzing, suggesting that the guy on the CCTV footage isn’t the same as the man behind bars. And it’s not just netizens talking – reports say that the CID’s fingerprint bureau confirmed the 19 prints from the crime scene have zero match with Shariful. The bureau’s report was forwarded to the CID Superintendent in Pune, putting Mumbai Police under the spotlight.
Shariful’s arrest was made by the East region police, but the Zone 9 team originally handled the case. With two teams on this rollercoaster investigation, it seems like there’s more drama off-screen than in Saif’s films!

What Actually Happened That Night?

Things escalated, and Saif tried to intervene, leading to a violent struggle. The actor sustained multiple stab wounds – yes, it was as intense as it sounds.
After the attack, Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital by his friend Afsar Zaidi. The admission records show he was brought in at 4:11 AM on January 16. Saif underwent emergency surgery for injuries on his back, wrist, neck, shoulder, and elbow, ranging from minor to 15 cm deep. Thankfully, his doctors confirmed he’s out of danger and on the road to recovery.
Who Is Shariful Islam Shehzad?
The alleged attacker, identified as Shariful Islam Shehzad, reportedly entered India illegally and even changed his identity to Vijay Das. But with the latest fingerprint twist, his involvement is now under serious question.
