New RTA Bus Routes Make Travel to Global Village More Convenient

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced several new bus routes and significantly updated existing ones to improve public transport for residents and visitors. Among the most anticipated additions is Route 108, designed specifically to connect Satwa residents with Global Village, one of Dubai’s most popular attractions.

Route 108: Direct to Global Village

Launching on Friday, November 29, Route 108 directly links Satwa Bus Station and Global Village. The service will operate on weekends, public holidays, and special events, making it an ideal choice during the busy UAE National Day celebrations. Buses will run from 2 PM to 1 AM with trips every 60 minutes, ensuring reliable and efficient transportation for visitors.

New Routes to Boost Connectivity

RTA has also added two more routes to cater to various communities:

  • Route F63: A metro feeder bus service connecting Al Ras Metro Station to Union Bus Station via Naif and Al Khaleej Streets.
  • Route J05: Connecting Mira Community with Dubai Studio City, the route passes through Nshama Townhouses, offering convenient travel for residents in these areas.

Upgraded Routes for Better Service

RTA has made changes to nine existing bus routes to enhance their efficiency and passenger experience:

  • Route 5: Now runs between Abu Hail and Union Bus Stations, no longer stopping at Al Ras Metro Station.
  • Route 14: Updated to terminate at Business Bay Metro Station for greater accessibility.
  • Route J02 and J04: Adjusted to shorten travel times and include stops like Sports City while reducing less-needed stops.

In addition to these, Routes F38, F39, and X92 now cover strategic new stops to better serve commuters.

Why These Changes Matter

These updates aim to reduce travel time, improve punctuality, and enhance passenger convenience. The changes come at a time when Dubai’s public transport system is witnessing higher demand, especially for Global Village services. Last season alone, Global Village bus services transported over half a million passengers, reflecting a 22% increase from the previous year.
