Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new plan to improve the land transport logistics sector. This plan includes 17 projects aimed at boosting the sector’s contribution to Dubai’s economy by AED 16.8 billion over the next six years.
RTA: Big Plans for the Future
Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA, shared the details of the new strategy, known as the Dubai Commercial and Logistics Land Transport Strategy 2030. This plan has been approved by the Dubai Executive Council, led by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.

Projects to Drive Economic Growth
The new strategy includes various projects that will help the logistics and commercial land transport sector grow. One important project involves the use of tachographs for heavy vehicle drivers. These devices will record driving times and rest periods to improve safety and efficiency on the roads.
