Dubai’s RTA Unveils Dh1.5 Billion Al Fay Street Development Project

Major road development promises smoother traffic flow for over 600,000 residents

Dubai is set to witness a major leap in its infrastructure with the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) latest project – the Al Fay Street Development. This Dh1.5 billion initiative aims to address the city’s growing traffic demands, enhancing connectivity for key residential and commercial areas while benefiting approximately 600,000 residents and visitors.

A turning point for Dubai’s Road Network

Al Fay Street plays a crucial role in Dubai’s road infrastructure, connecting Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and Emirates Road. The project is designed to handle up to 64,400 vehicles per hour upon completion, significantly improving traffic flow in this vital corridor.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum directs the development to prepare Dubai’s infrastructure for future population growth.

Features of the Al Fay Street Development

Improved Road Capacity

The project includes the construction of five major intersections and a total of 13.5 kilometers of bridges alongside 12.9 kilometers of roads. These enhancements are strategically planned to ease congestion and ensure smoother connectivity across Dubai’s east-west corridors.

Enhanced Connectivity

The upgraded Al Fay Street will connect key residential areas such as:

  • Dubai Sports City
  • Jumeirah Village Circle
  • Dubai Production City
  • Jumeirah Golf Estates
  • Tilal Al Ghaf
  • DAMAC Lagoons
  • The Oasis
  • Remraam

This improved connectivity will reduce travel times and offer direct routes from Al Khail Road to Emirates Road.

Project Benefits for Residents and Businesses

Traffic Relief for Key Areas

The project eases congestion in residential and commercial hubs, ensuring faster and more efficient daily commutes. Improved infrastructure will also support Dubai’s economic activities, benefiting businesses in the region.

A road to Future Growth

Dubai’s vision to create a world-class infrastructure is evident in projects like this. With the city’s population and tourism growing steadily, Al Fay Street Development is a proactive step to meet future demands while ensuring sustainability and efficiency.

Commitment to Sustainability and Development

Mattar Al Tayer, RTA’s Director, highlights the project as a key investment for Dubai’s mobility and sustainable infrastructure.

Moving Towards a Smarter Dubai
