Excitement is building in Riyadh as the Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) gears up for the third edition of the Riyadh Marathon. This year, the marathon will kick off and conclude at the newly-built Kingdom Arena, promising an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike.
A Thrilling Event for All
Scheduled for February 10 with support from the Ministry of Sport, the Riyadh Marathon has become one of Saudi Arabia’s most anticipated sporting events. Last year, it drew 15,000 runners from 128 countries, with over 60% being Saudi citizens. The marathon has also been certified as a World Athletics Label Road Race, highlighting its status as a premier sporting spectacle.
Something for Everyone
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting out, there’s a race for you at the Riyadh Marathon. Participants can choose from the full marathon (42.2km), half marathon (21.1km), a 10k run for those aged 17 and above, or a beginner-friendly 4k run suitable for families and children.

Festivities at Kingdom Arena Square
In addition to the races, Kingdom Arena Square will host a lively ‘Marathon Village’ on February 9-10. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food and beverage stalls, entertainment options, and fitness activities, creating a vibrant atmosphere for all to enjoy.
Scenic Routes Through Riyadh
The marathon routes wind through the streets of Riyadh, showcasing the city’s iconic landmarks such as Diriyah and Wadi Hanifa. Participants in the full marathon will have the opportunity to circle these landmarks twice, while half marathoners will also get to experience these sights.

Shaima Saleh Al-Husseini, Managing Director of the SFA, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We are pleased to welcome back the Riyadh Marathon and to be incorporating the city’s newest sporting venue, the Kingdom Arena. We expect this year’s event to be the biggest and best yet, helping us to fulfill our mandate to get more of the Kingdom’s population engaged in physical activity.”
