Riyadh Air Elevates In-Flight Experience with Premium Saudi Coffee and Dates

The Kingdom’s new airline is set to serve authentic Saudi coffee, premium dates, and Milaf Cola onboard and in lounges.

As Riyadh Air prepares to take off later this year, the carrier is shaping its identity with a uniquely Saudi flavour. Through new partnerships with Saudi Coffee Company and Milaf Global Food Company, passengers can look forward to freshly brewed Saudi coffee, hand-picked premium dates, and even Milaf’s date-based cola as part of their in-flight and lounge experience.

This move goes beyond refreshments. It reflects the Saudi custom of hafawa—welcoming guests with coffee and dates—bringing a deep cultural touch to modern air travel.

Showcasing Saudi Heritage

The airline will serve blends of coffee beans cultivated in the highland farms of Jazan, Abha, and Al Baha. These regions, known for their rich soil and altitude of over 1,000 metres, produce beans that carry distinctive notes now set to reach passengers across the globe.

Alongside coffee, travellers will enjoy a curated range of date varieties including Ajwa, Sukari, and Segai. Only the top tier of Milaf’s annual harvest—roughly five to seven per cent—will be offered on board, ensuring passengers receive the highest quality produce.

To complement the offering, Milaf Cola, crafted from natural date extract, adds a modern twist to one of the region’s oldest agricultural products.

Creating a Distinctive Travel Experience

For passengers flying from or through the Gulf, these touches create a familiar sense of welcome. Dubai residents in particular, who frequently travel to Saudi Arabia for business and leisure, can expect journeys that mirror the hospitality standards they are accustomed to.

Riyadh Air’s approach reflects a wider trend in Gulf aviation: integrating cultural authenticity into premium service. By blending heritage with innovation, the airline is positioning itself as more than just a carrier—it is becoming a cultural ambassador for the Kingdom.

Launched in 2023 by the Public Investment Fund, Riyadh Air plans to serve more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030. The introduction of Saudi coffee, dates, and Milaf Cola into its offering is one of many steps the airline is taking to showcase the Kingdom’s traditions while building a strong global presence.

Ahead of its debut, the airline promises a warm, personal, and regionally inspired journey for UAE travellers and beyond.

Riyadh Air partners with Saudi Coffee Company and Milaf to offer passengers a taste of Saudi hospitality—through coffee, dates, and cultural warmth before arrival.
