For over fifty days now, the unstoppable juggernaut that is ‘Pathaan’, led by the talented Siddharth Anand that stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, has taken the box office by storm. With a worldwide collection of over Rs 1,043.37 crore (US$130 million), Siddharth has injected new energy into Bollywood with this blockbuster success. He now eagerly anticipates his upcoming directorial project, ‘Fighter’, featuring the electrifying pair of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, along with the veteran actor Anil Kapoor in crucial roles.
Speaking to a news portal, Siddharth shared his excitement about Hrithik’s character in ‘Fighter’, the third collaboration between the actor and director after the hits ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘War’. Together, they are committed to delivering paisa vasool content and keeping audiences captivated from start to finish. “Bang Bang and War had really different characters,” Siddharth Anand exclaimed, speaking about his third collaboration with the versatile Hrithik Roshan, in his upcoming directorial venture, ‘Fighter’. “And Patty, the character he’s playing in Fighter, he’s made it his own. He’s like a chameleon, he just adapts and becomes that character for that one year (when he’s shooting the film).”
Siddharth was amazed at Hrithik’s ability to transform himself into the character he portrays, revealing, “He can bring a certain genuineness to it that can last over a franchise, it’s not just made up for that moment, he becomes that person. So Patty is really something Hrithik has really worked hard on, different from Kabir and Rajveer. It is really exciting to see him transform like that. It is like a dream for a director to have an actor who just submits himself to that film for so long. He is a joy.”
The much-awaited film ‘Fighter’ has Hrithik Roshan portraying the role of a skilled Air Force pilot, requiring him to undergo rigorous training and shoot at the military airbase in Salonibari, under the supervision of military officers. The film will see Hrithik cruising in a state-of-the-art Sukhoi 30 fighter jet, showcasing his impressive skills as a pilot.
Set to pay tribute to India’s armed forces, ‘Fighter’ is slated to hit theatres on India’s 75th Republic Day weekend on January 25, 2024. This film, based on the lives of Indian Air Force pilots, marks the first-time pairing of Hrithik and Deepika Padukone on the silver screen, adding more excitement to the much-anticipated movie. Joining the stellar cast is Anil Kapoor, who is set to play a pivotal role, alongside actors Akshay Oberoi and Karan Singh Grover.
