Ranbir Kapoor, the heartthrob of Bollywood, found himself in a bit of a pickle recently, and trust us, it’s not your typical Christmas drama. A viral video of the Kapoor lad chanting ‘Jai Mata Di’ while pouring booze on a cake during the festive celebrations has triggered more than just a hangover.
all about Ranbir Kapoor’s Viral Christmas Video
The actor, along with his famous Kapoor clan, was soaking in the holiday spirit with a Christmas bash. However, a video of Ranbir joyously chanting ‘Jai Mata Di’ while dousing a cake with liquor has set the social media ablaze. Not everyone was clinking glasses to this unconventional celebration, though.
Mumbai Resident Files Complaint Over Religious Sentiments
Meet Sanjay Tiwari, a Mumbai resident who wasn’t exactly thrilled with Ranbir’s festive fervor. He decided to take matters into his own hands by filing a complaint at Ghatkopar Police Station, accusing the actor of ‘hurting religious sentiments.’ According to Tiwari, the Kapoor crew violated Hindu traditions by using intoxicants during a celebration of another religion.
The complaint said, “In Hinduism, fire God is invoked before invoking other deities, but Ranbir and his family members deliberately used intoxicants while celebrating the festival of another religion and chanted ‘Jai Mata Di’”.
In his complaint, Tiwari requested Ranbir to be booked under sections 295 (A), 298, 500, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). These sections deal with offenses against religion, insulting religious beliefs, defamation, and acts done by several persons in furtherance of a common intention.
As the festive fallout continues, Ranbir Kapoor has maintained radio silence on the matter. Meanwhile, the police have yet to register an FIR (First Information Report). It seems like Santa’s not delivering legal action just yet.
Despite the legal hiccup, the Kapoor family’s annual Christmas lunch was not without its highlights. Ranbir and Alia Bhatt decided to gift the world the first glimpse of their one-year-old daughter, Raha. Talk about stealing the spotlight with cuteness!
