During the holy month of Ramadan, UAE residents are prioritizing their physical health alongside spiritual practices, according to a recent survey by New Balance. The study found that more than half of UAE residents are choosing to work out after breaking their fast, with a majority reporting higher energy levels at night.
Shifting Fitness Trends
The New Balance Ramadan Fitness Survey 2024 uncovered a significant shift in fitness habits during Ramadan. Over 76% of respondents said they set specific fitness goals for the month, crediting fasting for helping them stick to their routines. This shows how Ramadan is not only a time for spiritual reflection but also an opportunity for physical improvement.
Embracing Nighttime Activity during Ramadan
Interestingly, the survey revealed that nighttime is becoming the preferred time for physical activity during holy month. Nearly 6 out of 10 residents reported feeling more energetic at night, with 55% choosing to exercise after Iftar and into the night. This shift highlights a growing trend towards nighttime fitness routines.

This diversity reflects the evolving fitness landscape in the UAE.
