The Bhatt sisters – Pooja Bhatt and Alia Bhatt – have carved their own legendary lanes in Bollywood. From Pooja Bhatt setting screens ablaze in classics like Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, Sadak, and Zakhm, to Alia Bhatt currently ruling the charts with her powerhouse performances in Raazi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, it’s safe to say the Bhatt bloodline is sprinkled with some serious cinematic sparkle. But, looks like there’s a new plot twist straight out of a family.
Rahul Bhatt finds real sister pooja bhatt better than step sister alia bhatt
In a recent no-holds-barred interview with HinduRush, the former Bigg Boss contestant and current fitness freak casually declared that his sister Alia is “paani kam chai” compared to his real sister, Pooja Bhatt. Rahul straight-up said Alia doesn’t hold a candle to Pooja in terms of talent, looks, or sex appeal. That’s one spicy family opinion.
While most of us were still recovering from the bold ‘paani kam chai’ metaphor, Rahul doubled down by calling Pooja the ultimate sex symbol of her time. He believes she was the torchbearer of Mahesh Bhatt’s legacy and insisted she had all the ingredients of a classic Bollywood star – talent, boldness, and charisma to spare. According to him, Pooja wasn’t just ahead of her time, she was the time.
He stated, “In my opinion, she is not even half of what my real sister Pooja is, not in talent, not in looks, not in terms of being sexy. In front of my sister, she is ‘paani kam chai (not as good)’. This is my personal opinion. If you ask, amongst all our siblings, who is the most talented, the most moralistic, it is Pooja.”
Before you think it’s a full-blown Bhatt sibling feud, Rahul made it clear there’s no bad blood with Alia. He called her successful and acknowledged her savvy PR game, but also admitted they don’t connect often. He shared, “She is a mother now. She is very successful, and one can’t just pick up the phone and say ‘I am coming to meet you’. I never shared that with anybody. I like to maintain a certain protocol.”
Rahul added, “Pooja is the true inheritor to take the legacy of my father ahead. I saw her in her stardom. She was the biggest sex symbol of the country at that time.”
What’s next for alia Bhatt?
Alia’s calendar is screaming “booked and busy.” She’s headlining Alpha, YRF’s first-ever female-led spy thriller directed by Shiv Rawai. She’s diving into the romantic rollercoaster Love & War, directed by the grandeur maestro Sanjay Leela Bhansali, hitting theatres in March 2026. She will reportedly also support a young adult web series and launch four new talents.
Whether you’re Team Pooja or Team Alia, one thing’s for sure – the Bhatt fam doesn’t do boring. With every member bringing their own flavor to the industry, the drama might just be their most iconic production yet. Rahul Bhatt may have served his truth, but Bollywood knows—both sisters are B-town royalty in their own right.
