Qatar Airways Expands Saudi Network: Abha Joins as the 11th Destination

Qatar Airways enhances regional connectivity with new flights to Abha, Saudi Arabia.

Qatar Airways has added Abha to its Saudi Arabian destinations, marking a significant milestone in its growing network within the Kingdom. This expansion strengthens Qatar’s ties with Saudi Arabia, providing passengers with more travel options and seamless connections.

Abha Flights Officially Launched

The new route to Abha International Airport began operations on January 2, 2025. With flights scheduled twice weekly, on Thursdays and Saturdays, travelers now have better access to the Aseer region—a region known for its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage.

The flight timings are tailored to ensure convenience:

  • Doha to Abha (QR1212): Departs at 8:35 AM, arrives at 11:15 AM.
  • Abha to Doha (QR1213): Departs at 12:15 PM, arrives at 2:45 PM.

This schedule allows for easy onward connections through Qatar Airways’ hub at Hamad International Airport, linking passengers to over 170 global destinations.

The introduction of the Doha-Abha route is in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the economy and position the Kingdom as a leading global tourist destination.
