New 24-Hour Paid Parking Zones Near Mosques in Dubai Introduced by Parkin

Dubai has rolled out new 24-hour paid parking zones near several mosques across the city. The initiative, led by Parkin in coordination with authorities, aims to ensure that mosque parking areas are fairly and efficiently used by worshippers and visitors.

The new system introduces Zone M (Standard) and Zone MP (Premium) spaces. These areas are now clearly signposted and operate under a round-the-clock tariff structure.

How the new parking tariffs work

  • Zone M (Standard): Dh2 for 30 minutes, Dh4 per hour.
  • Zone MP (Premium): Dh3 for 30 minutes, Dh6 per hour during peak hours, while off-peak charges remain aligned with Zone M.

The move ensures that mosque parking areas are no longer misused by non-worshippers or left congested during busy hours.

Free parking during prayer times

To support the community, worshippers are granted one hour of free parking during official prayer times. This feature ensures convenience for those attending prayers without adding any financial burden. Clear signage near each mosque specifies how this system applies, helping drivers plan accordingly.

Benefits of the new system

The paid parking zones are designed to improve accessibility for worshippers, particularly during peak prayer times. In the past, mosque parking areas were often occupied by long-term parkers, making it difficult for attendees to find spaces. With this structured tariff, spaces will be rotated more efficiently, ensuring fair access for all.

By creating a clear distinction between standard and premium zones, Parkin has also addressed the different parking needs in high-demand areas, such as mosques located in busy neighbourhoods.

Resident and community response

Many residents across Dubai have welcomed the initiative, highlighting that it brings greater discipline and organisation to mosque parking. Worshippers have noted that knowing a spot will likely be available when arriving for prayer reduces stress and improves the overall experience.

For expatriates and families who live in high-density areas, the change also means less time spent circling for parking near mosques, especially during evening prayers and Fridays.

How to pay for mosque parking

Payments can be made easily using the Parkin app, the RTA Dubai app, or via SMS. Signage near mosque entrances guides both Arabic and English, ensuring clarity for all drivers.

The fully digital process means worshippers and visitors can manage payments without tickets or cash, supporting Dubai’s broader goal of transitioning to smart, contactless services.

The launch of 24-hour paid parking zones near mosques is more than just a regulation. It represents Dubai’s continued focus on community-first planning, where worshippers benefit from free access during prayer times, while parking misuse is curbed.

With over 2,000 spaces now covered under this system, residents and visitors alike can look forward to a smoother experience around mosque areas.
