Dubai Metro and Tram to Operate Non-Stop for 40 Hours During New Year Celebrations

In a bid to enhance the New Year celebrations for residents and visitors alike, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced that both the Dubai Metro and Tram services will run non-stop for an extended 40-hour period, starting from December 31.

Extended Metro and Tram Services for New Year Celebrations

According to Abdullah Yousif Al Ali, the CEO of RTA, this initiative aims to provide the public with convenient transport options while minimizing traffic congestion during the festive period. In addition to the extended Metro and Tram services, the RTA plans to deploy a fleet of 230 buses, which will be available to the public free of charge.

Ample Parking Spaces for New Year Attendees

As part of its commitment to a smooth transportation experience, the RTA has also rolled out comprehensive signage systems. These signs are strategically placed to guide commuters and revelers, direct traffic, indicate parking locations and highlight bus pick-up points.

Furthermore, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) signage and variable message boards will be deployed to provide real-time information about road closures, alternative routes, and open pathways. This proactive approach ensures that individuals are well-informed and can plan their travel accordingly.

Comprehensive Signage Systems for Smooth Traffic Flow

The RTA’s dedication to enhancing Dubai’s transportation infrastructure and ensuring the well-being of its citizens and guests is evident through these comprehensive measures. The authority aims to make the transition into 2024 as smooth and hassle-free as possible for everyone in the city.
