For the past week, the gossip universe has been buzzing about this duo. Mrunal and Dhanush were spotted together a few times, enough to make fan pages lose their collective minds. Paparazzi got their clicks, Reddit got its theories, and the internet basically decided they were a thing.
When asked about the whispers, as reported by Only Kolluwood, Mrunal laughed it off. In her own words, “Dhanush is just a good friend to me.” That’s it.
She’s seen all the memes and headlines! Apparently, she found them hilarious. She added, “I’m aware that a lot of news has been circulating about the two of us being linked together recently. I just found it funny when I saw it.”
If you thought Dhanush showing up at the Son of Sardaar 2 event was a grand romantic gesture for Mrunal, think again. The actress cleared it up, saying, “Dhanush attended the Son of Sardaar 2 event. No one should misunderstand that. It was Ajay Devgn who invited him.”
Where It All The Rumours Began
The whispers first started after Mrunal popped up at the wrap-up party for Tere Ishq Mein, starring Dhanush alongside Kriti Sanon and Prabhu Deva. Then came the photos from the Son of Sardaar 2 screening where the two were spotted chatting. Mrunal also followed Dhanush’s sisters on Instagram. At this point we all know how Insta follows can set the internet on fire.
Mrunal says it’s friendship, the internet says it’s love, and we’re here with our popcorn waiting to see who’s right. Because in celebrity-land, “just friends” has a way of aging like fine wine, sometimes it turns into something much sweeter.
