Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom started with a bang – ?21.25 crore gross on Thursday. But by the weekend it fizzled at ?22.50 crore net, mostly thanks to strong Telugu and Tamil pulls. Clearly, myth beats royal drama this time.

This action-packed 3D animation retells the divine tale of Lord Vishnu’s Narasimha avatar: half-man, half-lion, who descends to protect Prahlada from the oppressive demon king Hiranyakashipu. It’s part one of the ambitious Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, imagined by Ashwin Kumar following his spiritual journey. It released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Set for an release in April 2025, it finally hit screens on July 25, 2025
